Las Vegas Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists

Las Vegas Uninsured Motorists

Whether your primary means of transportation is a car, truck or motorcycle or you regularly ride on a bus or in a taxicab, there is a good chance that you will eventually be involved in a vehicle accident. Fortunately, only a small percentage of motor vehicle accidents result in serious or fatal injuries, but if you were one of the unlucky few, this provides no comfort.

At Harris & Harris Lawyers, we have helped thousands of clients recover compensation for injuries suffered in car, truck and motorcycle accidents. We represent injured people in Nevada, California and Utah. If the driver who caused your accident was uninsured or underinsured, contact our Las Vegas accident lawyers for answers and legal help.

Do You Know if You Have Uninsured Motorist Coverage?

Many of our clients are surprised to find out that they were sold "full coverage" auto insurance policies, but their policies had no uninsured/underinsured motorist provision. If you don't know if you have coverage, we can review your policy and advise you on how to bring an accident claim against your insurer if you have such coverage.

Uninsured Motorist and Underinsured Motorist Coverage

If your injuries were serious, your medical expenses have probably exceeded the limits of the other party's auto insurance policy. If this is the case, you may need to access the uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage provided in your own insurance policy.

  • Uninsured motorist coverage: This insurance coverage will pay your bills if the other driver had no insurance or if you were hurt in a hit-and-run accident and do not know if the other driver had insurance.
  • Underinsured motorist coverage: If the driver who caused your accident carried only minimal insurance, or if he or she had extensive coverage but your catastrophic injuries will lead to medical bills in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, you will probably need additional compensation. Once you have taken advantage of all the coverage of the other party, then your own underinsured motorist policy should pick up additional medical bills, lost wages and other expenses.
  • Third-party coverage: Sometimes there is a third party involved in an accident, such as when the other driver was driving a work vehicle or driving for work purposes. In all accident cases, we work to identify all the parties that can be held financially responsible.

You pay nothing unless we recover compensation on your behalf

We understand that our clients are facing significant medical bills and generally cannot afford to pay the high cost of a court case. Your consultation with our firm is free and our fees are based on the success of your case. You pay us nothing unless we recover compensation on your behalf.
